Like croft

I am happy in cold London. I've got my black coat and my combat boots. I felt like lara croft at war in DF arriving on my bike, and now I feel like lara croft on vacation. straight up chillin.

Table karma

So I have table karma like on fire. When being told to wait 30+ mnutes by nearly every establishment in London, I react in a friendly calm manner and get a table in under 7 minutes... every time. feeling smooth like a latina! I give crédito to Loreto... seems like people appreciate a little warmth, let it shine! Everyone is so nice here

Tropical London

Bounty and vitality is in the eye of the beholder. You are enough!

One month in.... My goal is to make a cold place feel like a tropical paradise.

This is the perspective of an immigrant: we can choose to see the harsh realities before us, or we can bring our own magic and twist the perception of what is possible. "To draw, first you must see," I learned in art class in high school. If we choose warmth, it abounds. This man is in his garden in Leeds, UK :)

People ask me, "how is London so far?" I say "it's like one big spa." it's calm, soothing, balanced, clean, comforting and well cared for. Everything is in it's context. mexico has made me different :)

Cali nostalgia for Norton

Would like to give a shout out to Emperor Norton, a delusional optimist who lived a real-life don Quixote life in San Francisco in 1880.

A third of the city population at the time came to the streets to celebrate the self-proclaimed "Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico," after he died. It's a nice story that glory is in the eye of the beholder - and that living your own dream can have a major ripple effect on the people around you :) Grateful for all my kooky friends who inspire me every day....  keep it up mi gente!

First real day in wonderland

Feeling at home in London today . Fun to learn a new place and put my heart into it.

At one bar I waited an hour for the check and didn't care, I just sat there, heeding my grandfather's words - "everywhere you go, there you are." In exchange for my patience I got a free wine tasting. I guess I learned a thing or two in Mexico about how to just be.

Feeling at home in London today . fun to learn a new place and put my heart into it

I basically walked around all day being a romantic mess. You know, in the sense of having virtual emoticons floating over my head wherever I went. 🙌😄✨💫
I even waited over an hour for my check at a bar and didn't even care.

"Wherever you go, there you are."
Imagination is everything. #inwonderland

If my writing can be whimsical

I am glad. For such dense things have fallen beside me, not upon me, for with whimsy I can conjure others to step lightly, as time can be light if you allow it; to step brightly, for time can be very bright, if you allow it.

"Be clean," my sensibilities said, and I haven't turned back since.

Feet in the ground

I have betrayed retrograde and signed many aggrements with the world. Now, I am open - my feet are on the ground - bring on the wildcards!!

And i get that excited feeling...

The kind where your whole body goes into a rush, and you imagine the seratonergic urge of something absolutely magical happening, like the climax of a good song, a person who is meaningful walking into the room suddenly with flowers, a gift to witness the aligned jam session you have with life, aligned indeed. And your eyes are on fire, and you allow yourself to go limp before the world, a few sips of wine in..... for every movement you make will change your world as you pass through this city.... Every movement holds millions of secrets.

Arriving

Alice - I should be out celebrating locking down an apartment but I'm in my bed, exhausted. I don't know (m)any people, it's 0° out, and I'm happy.

Like a gust of wind, my world is different than it was just Tuesday. In a single day, everything can change, and with a big open heart the future opens it's doors, like it's not even a big deal, like life does this every day.

Eric- love the positivity. And how you're always that way. I'm convinced it's contagious.

Alice- Thank you sweetie. I think you're right too. sometimes I'm embarrassed to share but then other times I think, Jesus, this is a big moment. I should say something... maybe other people are having big moments too or could, know what I'm saying. I guess its crazy where you find yourself sometimes, and just kind of ogle at how you got there. I can only imagine this will happen a lot when you have kids

When the water ran out

The water ran out.
My neighbor upstairs began opening the water, and it made the most mystifying songs. The water was out. It took a few minutes of stuttering, before the song again. And that's the water began to run, it began to sing. spatter, spatter, spatter.

It's an interesting feeling hearing water flowing above you. It makes you feel like you're underneath a waterfall, or inside of this theater itself, suddenly aware of the living and moving space around you.

New Job

So excited my new job is making me feel smart again in a way I haven't felt in years.

Like literally challenging my brainpower. Hallelujah. We can go a while without that feeling, huh.

I guess it all goes in cycles. But I'm happy to be on the up again. Dude.

Y'all if you feel that 'something's missing' feeling, use it like a "cohete en el culo" as they say around here.... get out and godspeed.

If you get there like where I was, use it like a "cohete" as they say around here... get out and godspeed.

I mean it was sweet live in a palace and all, but what the fuck. This was literally a test of social and emotional intelligence, basically, no brain power else where was needed. That is, except a little ego boost, based on some good memory of what you're actually capable of, and other places.

London announcement v.2

This new years eve, my 3 suitcases will be packed and poised by a Carolina farmhouse door, and it will be me and my mama having a champagne toast in a toasty kitchen.

For I am moving to LONDON on New Years Day!

In a wild turn of events, transformative flows of wild energies, exotic adventures, romance, fear, renewal and even religiousness (nobody saw that coming), yeah, I got a dream job in London and I am leaving Latin America.

Gracias Cartagena, for being the most vital and romantic place I know.

I will be back for you con corazón llena y goteando. tqm Colombia!!

You have opened the gates to a new life era,  which began in Havana in 2004 and closed here in Cartagena a decade later. I have a psychic connection to this place and a major life cycle was just fulfilled.
